Off Roading DRC Project Truck

Competition tractor pull

I'm wanting to lift my truck to fit a set of 36" ground hawgs, my 35's have been rubbing and drivin me nuts, so I want clearance, what do I need to get??? I think a 5 inch lift should work, but I'm open to suggestions, I've been looking into piecing together a kit with the best components, so far I've decided on

DT Profab: HD Track Bar, dual shock mounts, 5" front springs, unsure on control arms of what length I'll need, I already have a set of 1/2 inch forward arms on my truck for the 35's i'm running and hoping they will work, but if someone can get me a measurement off their truck I'd appreciate it.

Tuff Country: Add a leafs for the rear springs to make 5. 5 inches total lift

On an 02 I'd suggest a 5. 5" Fabtech, you'll have plenty of clearence as long as you have enough rim backspace to stay off the radius arms. Fabtch is a little $$$ but they build some of the heaviest duty stuff, you may need to add a block or leaf in the rear they tend to do the California laid back lean. But they are the best, and easy to install, stay away from Pro Comp, Tuff Country, Rough Country, especially with a diesel.

I was hoping I could do it without buying a full kit... I'll keep in mind the companies to avoid though, I'm planning add a leafs in the rear, hate blocks with a passion

The amount of fabrication or piecing together to achieve the lift you want will more than likely cost as much as a full kit. You need longer radius arms, to keep the axle centered, you need bigger coils because they don't make spacers over 3", also odds and ends like sway bar drop down brackets, I agree though NO BLOCKS. You should be able to get a full kit with springs and shocks for under $1200

I was looking at don thuren's track bar, steering stabilizer, and steering system, DT profab's coils, dual shock mounts, and control arms, Fox racing shocks all around, add a leaf springs in the back, skyjaker drop pitman, and still looking at other necessary components, I'm wanting to piece it together, cause I want the most rugged and reliable setup i can get. I looked at a kore race kit... . wow price was waaaaayyyyy up there, but it looked amazingly durable

ther are other companies out there that will give you a suspension that you can actually use, instead of a 6" mall crawler body lift.

check out Lorenz Ind. his **** works

alot out there

well I would check into Top Gun Customz - Lift Kit and Custom Suspension System Specialists

they have alot of kits plus make their own lifts coils and control arms. I have a 6" lift and have no prob with 35's I can probley go up to 37's. I would call them they are very helpfull they seem to really like dodges there I was told the owner and head fabricator all own dodges. not saying these are the best places but they have a good selection and good customer service.

let us know what you decided would like to see it probley will be really good.

it will probably take me a while to get it all together, I've been working on a real tight budget, I think this winter is going totally into fixing old problems, I'm planning a new turbo to replace the lag pig I'm currently running, as well as an ATS exhaust manifold and a snow system, I am also hoping to get a dynatrac front end kit to do away with the sealed unit bearings Dodge graced us with as they are just impractical and the vacuum 4x4 is an irritation at best, hoping to do lockers when I do that, so time will tell but I figure it to be mid spring - late summer before the lift is complete as I'll just be getting pieces when I can fit them in.
