Finally got it done.

Went with the SJ D25 coils up front and the superlift rear block kit for the rear (2" blocks and u-bolts).

Not sure how much the front actually lifted. If anyone could take a fender well measurement on an 03 quad cab SB 4x4 for me that would be great. It now measures 43" to the center lip on the front on the stock tires.

Here are some pics.

HEY... . your pickup is IDENTICAL to my roommates, minus the lift. He wants to lift his, but I think he wants to go 4".

I like the way yours looks... time for some bigger tires though! :)

Does nobody make a 2" add-a-leaf for the rear? I wouldn't want bigger blocks back there on mine.

I haven't seen an add a leave for the 03. The 03 spring is kinda screwed up. It has 2 bolts going through the spring instead of one centerbolt.

I forget exactly how it is layed out, but not like most spring packs.

The stock blocks are ony 1" total height so its only like i have a 3" block, and the 2nd gen trucks came w/ a 4. 75 so I don't see a big problem. Axle wrap seems no worse than it was before.

Skyjacker makes 2/2. 5 and 4/4. 5 inch lifts for 2003 heavy duties with rear add-a-leafs. Check their catalog, it's in there!

CIverson, That measurement you asked for is 39 3/4" on mine, with 15k on the odometer. Looks great!

Thanks! Does yours have the snow plow package too? Not sure if that comes with different coils or not.

Anyway if mine was the same that's 3 1/4" of lift. Dosen't seem like that much to me though.

By the way, I had a 38 from my previous truck sitting around and I decided to throw it up to see how well it fit, and it wasn't too far from fitting. I bet 38's would prolly fit if I had 3 more inches of lift. Although I didn't buy this truck to put 38's on it so I better stop thinking about that RIGHT NOW ;)

Re: Re: Measurement

Yes, I do have the snow plow prep, which does have a different coil set-up. 38's sound cool :D but not very user friendly:(

I can't seem to find them and Les Schwab tells me do to the 3 pin style of the rear leafs there is not a rear spring add on made.

Can you supply the link please?

TIA

From the sticker the plow package only adds a t-case skid plate, but as I suspected the coils are stiffer also. It may add more on other models though. Speaking of plows my new snoway goes on saturday, can't wait :)

The alignment hasn't been done yet, but will be shortly. From my past experience the caster dosen't change much w/ the small amount of lift and there are no noticeable effects driving it so far. On my 98 I did 3" spacers origionally and the alignment shop only had to recenter the wheel, BUT I agree it does need to be done to make sure it's correct :)

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm loving it so far, just need to find some shocks that I like that won't break the bank, and get some 35" BFG MT's on the way.

CIverson, Great looking truck!! I just ordered my complete kit a couple days ago. Already got the coil springs and one set of shocks, of course the other items are on BO. How did you install the coil's? Or did you come up with any tricks on the best way to do it and how long did it take?

Thanks for the info, Don

The front took me about an hour and a half.

You will need coil compressors and I found them to be a PITA. I've never used them before. I got the MacStrut ones from napa. I could see the bolts starting to bow a little the closer I got to the coils fitting. If I didn't need those darn coil compressors I could have whipped through it in about 45 minutes easy.

The main reason for alignment is the toe-in. If you look at the way the tie rods work, you'll see that as you increase the front ride height, the toe-in will increase at the same time. After leveling mine out 2 inches it still tracked great until I had it aligned. but I knew it changed the toe-in.

Hunter,

Here's the link:

Click on "Dodge", and it's on page 17 of the catalog, at the top. Maybe it's a typo?
