Hi everyone,

so i have the 2" "leveling kit" in my truck. i feel it sits a little nose high as before it sat nose low. i am clearing 285's but would like to move on up to 35's. would a skyjacker 2. 5 kit give me an even ride hight?? should i take out my leveling kit to do a lift??? i kept my stockers should they be reused???

any advice on kits and how yours went and where to get them would be super!!! i just want it to be level and big... :)

Thax!!!!

Bartman,

I just put the D25 coils and Bilsteins under my truck in October and it was a cinch. Took a couple of hours and the truck sits level. You can see pics in my gallery. I also just added 315/75/16's and now the truck has the look I've wanted for it since I bought it in 2001. It drives right, rides right, and seems more proportional to me.

I think the "nose high" feeling you have is because you were used to how it sat before. I put a level on mine and it is DARN close to being level, which may also create the optical illusion that the front is higher.

At any rate, with the D25's and Bilstein shocks, the truck will ride a bit firmer but not harsh. Also, the bounces are much more controlled, which is what I wanted. Whatever you do, go get an alignment when you're done as changing suspension height changes geometry and could cause anything from spooky handling to odd tire wear, or worse.

There's more reading on here that you'll care to do on lifting these beasts. Just do a search on Skyjacker D25 and you'll see what I mean.

FWIW, I picked my coils up at 4WheelParts and the shocks at OffRoadWarehouse. www.4wheelparts.com and www.offroadwarehouse.com respectively. You can call either one too, and if you go with ORW, talk to Sonny... he has an impressive amount of knowledge and excellent customer service.

Have fun and learn more about your truck as you work on it.

Yah I thought the same thing I just put spacers in my 01 and I could see the more of the hood but it rides level getting ready to pull those out we hope to get our order in next week with Kore engineering Kent Kroeker got me thinking I want to race a truck in the 1000 that would be awesome. I also want to see how well it will articulate and tackle the extremely slick and muddy trails of the Pacific Northwest alot of mudboggin out here

I installed a Skyjacker 4. 5" kit with 315/75/16 Pro Comp X-Terrian directional D rated tires. What a great package. It rides just as smooth if not a little better that stock. I also got the optional front shock kit that put 2 shocks on each front tire, and a new set of rear leaf springs. It's now level although it does look like the front sets up a little higher.

I put the D25's on and the 315's just barely rub the lower control arm at full lock. I imagine Skyjackers control arms wouldn't.

i put a leveling kit on mine and had your same opinion on how it sat. i added a 1" block in the rear, that i got from my local spring and suspension shop i needed new u bolts as well. it is perfect now i run 315s and they did rub a lil on the stock trailing arms with the stock rims, i have since upgraded to 16X8 aftermarket wheels and i love it. i am going to go take a good clear picture of it today. i will post later
