Hi guys. Is it normal to see some light blue smoke coming from the exhaust when accelerating from a stop. I notice it especially at night when there is a car behind me with its lights on. I have enhanced the power some and i was wondering if that was the cause of it. It only seems to come from the pipe on acceleration, not at local street or highway cruising speeds. Thanks, :)

It's normal due to turbo lag, once your turbo is up to speed it goes away. You can control it though by not mashing down on the accelerator.

THANKS GUYS. IT DOES GO AWAY WHEN THE TURBO SPOOLS UP. IT JUST COMES OUT ON THE GET GO. DR. PERF SAID HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT I WOULD HAVE TO COME DOWN TO HIS SHOP IN TEXAS TO DO IT. JUST CAN'T DO THAT RIGHT NOW. DO ANY OF THESE NEWER TURBO'S I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT IN THE MAG SPOOL UP QUICKER? SEE YA, BOB

A smaller turbo spools up faster but then you don't have the output when your rpms are up. If anything a larger turbo will increase your lag time. You almost have to sacrifice one for the other.

yeah, or you get get rid of those two problems (usually), but sacrifice reliability with twins. you can do the mods yourself RLC77 for a lot cheaper.

I noticed the same thing. Light blue smoke off idle only to be seen at night when there are headlights behind me.

I think if our trucks were bone stock we wouldn't have any smoke.
