Light duty snow plow - seen or used one?

seems to be a real nice solution to a big snow blower. Dodge doesnt allow for real snow plows on the 99 ISB QC 4x4's (frankly I dont want to pay for a real one just todo my driveway and I dont want to beat the crap out of my truck plowing to make it worth the money to buy a real setup).



My 12 year old snowblower is gonna fall apart soon. I've got a long section of driveway next to the house and where the trailer is parked that leaves me with the need to move a lot of snow a long distance to the front yard, where I can then pile it on the front lawn. My medium size blower just isnt enough. Next blower is gonna have to be monster or this inexpensive snow blade seems like the ticket, leaving the rest of the minor snow removal that needs to be done to a smaller snow blower.



So , anyone seen one of these things? used one?

I have used a snowbear plow in the past. They are similar except they have an electric motor to lift the plow. I liked the convenience of plowing at first, but got tired of not having power angle or some of the other luxury's. There's nothing like getting out in the cold to have to change the angle and the pin is buried in ice. Except standing in a blizzard putting a tire chain back on but thats another story. Anyway, anything is better than nothing. In cab heat while pushing snow is better than getting it blown in your face.

or you could go my route, Buy an ATV, hang a plow on it and put on some warm cloths. The best part is the rest of the year you can still play with the 4 wheeler!



I have a 2002 Yamaha Beartracker. Its 250cc, 2wd. I have plowed just under a foot of snow several times and it did alright. Between my neighbor's drive way and mine, I plow 2000' of single track driveway.



It does 100 times better then my Sears 18Hp garden Tractor. Sure it could use some more power, and 4wd would be nice, but the Beartracker is all I could afford. It also works real well for towing my garden trailer to bring in firewood. I live on a steep hill, so the 1 wheel drive tractor was almost useless



I put tire chains on it, with a cycle country plow. Whole thing cost around $4500 out the door. Not sure what a Myers plow cost now a days.

Dont have a need or any place to ride an ATV around here, as much as I would love to have one.



This plow goes for about $1K, about the same price as a good 9hp snow blower... .



One swipe and I'd have 80% of the work done... . I have one long 80ft run that I need to just get the snow from between the house/trailer and my neighbors house/fence... .



Right now it take me about an hour with the snowblower. . just have to keep moving mounds...



To clean up what the plow leave behind I can see needed a snowblower the size I have now... 5hp...

for $1,000 you can get a new snowbear plow. It has the electric motor lift, but manual side to side adjustments

does the snowbear plug into my 2inch front receiver?

no but it comes with a bolt on farme hook up. It adds about 30 pounds to the front when the plow isn't there. The plow hooks frame slides onto 2 posts and attaches with pins. When you take it off, the plow hitch is hardly noticeable. The $1,000 is a total package deal. (frame & plow)
