The 6. 0 was a major leap forward. It just was a mistep. I dont want one personally but once they get her figured out. It will be a cool engine I assure you. A good contender to our mighty cummins before the dust settles. Cmon we need a challenge any ways. The cummins dominates too many events. We need something to shake it up. Good competition pushes us to do better. Im now looking forward to 1200hp at the wheels from the cummins.

I like international. They have had a few good motors over the years(mostly i-6s). I have owned and driven a few and own one presently. I personally think the 6. 0 will be a much better engine than the 7. 3 PSD ever was. I dont know what inspired them to hobble this engine with the same fuel system that held the 7. 3 back from doing really impressive things. Heui has its good points but im of the opinion that it requires copious amounts of oil to operate correctly. More than you can fit in a pickup. They run 24 quarts in the medium duty trucks. I think it would have much better runability if it had 24 quarts in the lights. The 6 8 fire is a problem but im sure it was considered in r and d. Other than the 7. 3 in the fords. I have complete faith in internationals ability to design a good engine. Sometimes the implementation can be a bit bumpy. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

ON that note. I met another unhappy 6. 0 owner tonight. I now preach brand diesel a lot. I dont care who builds it anymore. I prefer I-6s but I think all diesels rock. I love my cummins but for most intents and purposes any diesel will do. The more diesel brothers we have the better off we are. This brand loyalty stuff is for the birds. A little competition among brands is cool but flat out dogging others for their personal choices is low. There are few brands that I will buy a first year of and Im proud to say that one is toyota and the other is cummins. They generally provide a well thought out product(toyotas american lines have suffered lately).

I think car and driver said the 350 diesel was engine of the year. So I dont buy into " " of the year any more.

I agree "The more diesel brothers we have the better off we are. This brand loyalty stuff is for the birds. "

But it hurts to see such lame attempts like the 350 and 6. 0l stopping the advance of diesel engines into this country. I truly believe we will have long lines at the few diesel pumps in a few years.

It looks like the 6. 0l only has one more left in production.

And just think , it only took them one year to realize they made a mistake.
