2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Light Trouble

I was having trouble with my lights going out, learned thru TDR that this was a common problem and that a new switch would cure the problem. I replaced the switch with a new one from Rock Auto, works ok except the bright light signal on the dash is on when ever the lights are on dim or brights. I have a 2001 Sport. Did I get a bad switch the wrong one or what?

I'm not for certain here, but I believe there was a difference in the sport package headlight switch assembly. I don't have one, so I can't tell you. But call the parts store and see if they have an option for the Sport Headlight switch..... Someone else speak up on this, hey guys, where ya at?!?!

If it didn't do it before, and the brights worked well, than I too would suspect the new switch.
Can you throw the old one back in to confirm?

both of you have good ideas, might be a difference between the sport and the regular. I hope I still have the old switch. Thanks for the help.
