Lights always on

I recently joined TDR and this is my first post. I bought a 1989 W-250 TD at a county auction and love it. The problem I am having is that the headlights and running lights are on all the time the truck is running. I would like the headlight switch to be back to normal. Can anyone tell me how I can fix the problem? Offer suggestions?

Estokes, sounds like you have a truck that was built for our TDR brothers north of the border. I believe they have a head light always on law.

I think there is a module that plugs into the wiring harness some where, not sure where.



We need some help here from OUR BROTHERS north of the border!

Check with dealer parts man and see if the switch is diff for it to stay on all the time

Daytime Running Lights

Only the headlamps should come on automaticly, if your truck came equipped with daytime running lamps. They come on at half brightness as soon as the truck is moved, and stay on until the ignition switch is turned off. If you would like the wiring diagram, send me an email.

The 89's didn't get the daytime running lights. THey were installed in the '90 and up trucks. Sounds like someone has been foolin with the harness for some other goodies. This may take some trouble shooting or just a new switch.
