lights go out when parked

My lights go out after 10-15 min. when parked with the engine off. This is not good when stopped on the shoulder of the road. Can this feature be defeated????

Not to my knowledge. It is a battery saver and with the new isolation systems, everything is controlled by a computer. Dealer might a flash, but doubt it.

This is an excerpt from the 2006 manual



² Exterior Lamp Fail-Safe Operation - The EMIC provides a fail-safe feature which will automatically turn ON

the low beam headlamps and all park lamps when the ignition switch is in the ON position and there is no

detected input from the headlamp switch.

² Exterior Lamp Load Shedding - The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) provides a battery saver feature

which will automatically turn OFF all exterior lamps that remain ON with the ignition switch in the OFF position

after a timed interval of about eight minutes.



So, if the switch is ignition switch is left ON, I would assume that the lights would remain ON.

Thanks for the info. I will do it that way next time.



I also have a hole in the bottom of my standard air box with a 3" pipe and forward facing elbow under the truck .
