Question and I know this may sound kind of dumb coming from a guy, but how can I get the lighted and mirrored sun visors? As you can tell by my signature, I have an 02 that is missing many parts, with this being one of them. :(

Any help is appreciated, and BTW, these little smilies have more hair on their heads than I do, so I need to make sure the shine is good.

Thanks,

Ben

Ben, I'll try not to write this to quickly. I don't need any tickets. ow, what the heck... I'm not in your state :D .

I have a Lund visor. Does not have lights but I was wondering what one looked like with lights. I been contemplating adding them. Maybe some of you with lighted visors could post some pics. The Lund I have is very stout. The only thing Ive noticed that I don't like is it rumbles (air noise) at higher speed or windy days.

Clarification

Thanks, Tom C.

I guess I need to better explain what I'm going after here. In the 02's, one of the things left out of the slt package, was the lighted vanity mirrors, (I think that's what they're called), that are on the inside of the truck.

They are the one's that you can look at and no matter how ugly a person is, you can't break them and for the really ugly one's they can turn down/off the light. :-laf

I hope this helps,

Ben

ooops

nevermind me :D :D :D

dodge should have them. The '01 I had, had the mirrored visor on both the passanger and drivers visors.

How about those pics???:p

If I wasn't here in Germany, but in the states with my truck, I would be broke from all of the pics and bombs that would have been done on it already. :D

From the model year 2000 parts book:

VISOR, Illuminated:

5FV64 TL2AD Right

5FV65 TL2AD Left

I have no idea what you need to get power to these illuminated visors. It may already exist above the headliner. However, the parts book shows several wiring harnesses (depending on trim level) for the over-the-windshield portion of the cab. None specifically mention the illuminated visors. I suspect there is no wiring in place for your mirrors.

Good luck!

Ben, just because you're in Germany, you could still enjoy some of these bombs - I know I do - life's too short to wait. :D:D I Hope you get the lighted mirrored sunvisors. I would imagine that the best way to ensure you not only get the mirror sunvisor units is to examine the deltas over the stock configuration that DC put into the various convenience groups' packages as the additional power supply wiring loom would be part of that option build, I'm pretty sure. Do you have an overhead console perhaps? That might be an option for you if there is power you can discretely tap into there?

I have them in my 3500 and I don't think upgrading yours to this specification would have the DC warranty police on your case ;) .

What part of Germany are you in? I guess it's somewhere down south right? You're the second TDR member I know of this side of the big pond AND also in the same country! (My truck bio is below left in profile).

later.....

My 96 3500 SLT had 'em. My 02 3500 SLT+ doesn't. Go figger!! No big deal to me, but I have to listen to my wife every time she uses hers!

Let us know if you find the power supply harness already there behind the headliner. If you do, I might have to retrofit mine as well. ;) :D

I wish I could go digging into it right now, but since I'm here in Germany and the truck is in Iowa, I can't get to it.

Sorry.

Ben

I have a 2001. 0 which came with the lighted (and dim-able) vanity mirrors. I have never used them ever, but like knowing that their there for that emergency situation. :D
