Limited slip diff

Would the rearend have a tag on it if it was limited slip or does it have a certain code on the gear ratio tag? I keep forgetting to spin the wheels when it is up to check it.

There should be a "Bill of Material" number on the same tag as the gear ratio. You can check it on Dana's website: http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?cvsp~Debill~



Pay close attention to any numbers after the six digit number (ex. 605509-1 would be a D70 with an open diff, while 605509-2 would be a D70 with a limited slip).

Your truck should have the factory sticker under the hood about where the battery is located located on the underside of hood.



Also, the diff I. D. tag has a LS stamped into it. It is fastened onto one of the diff. cover retaining cap screws.
