I just had a dana 70 power-lok limited slip put in my rear end. The question I have is can I put a power-lok 60 in my front end with out hurting anything? Also does dodge put any limited slip diff's at all in front ends? Thanks!
There is no factory LSD available for our trucks. A controlable type of differential (ARB air locker or Eaton E-locker) is basically the only option for our trucks, other then installing lockout hubs and then a locker. The axle disconnect kind of limits our options because the left wheel/axle is always connected to the diff.
Also a locker in the front will cause some undesirable handling on the street, and lots of drivetrain wind-up.
Because we have no hubs the drivers side axleshaft is constantly spinning parts of the front differential (even in 2wd) so you will be constantly wearing the clutches in a limited slip. As Wayne says you need a controllable device which limits your selection to an ARB, Eaton or Ox locker. It's more expensive but also much more functional than a limited slip for both on and off road.
