I had it in a early 90's furd 150 with a 6cyl stick. Got stuck in leaves, the LSD worked about 10 seconds, enough for the truck to slide sideways enough to get stuck even worse, then it switched to an open rear and lsd never worked again.
My 98 dodge was OK but my 2002 lsd rear is junk. Just pulling up the 20% grade concrete driveway one wheel will spin when its wet! I was amazed when they said to test it, lock 1 wheel, jack up the other and put truck in "N". Put a torque wrench on it the wheel in the air and turn, if it takes more then 35psi the rear is good!
LSD has its problems also, in PA all the back roads are crowned, in the snow LSD will cause the rear of the truck to slide off the edge of the road.
