Through an error on my part, the new truck I just received from Idaho, does not have a limited slip rear differential. I am wondering how much it will cost to correct this faux pas? Will I have to let Dodge do it to avoid voiding my warranty? This however has not taken away from the fact that after 10 years of drooling, begging, and hard work I finally have a CTD. Hell of a lot of power, lots of good sound from the pipe, and that wonderful diesel smell. Lovin' every minute of it.

Not sure there's much incentive to have a dealership do the work...

Whether you have a dealership do the work or not DC isn't going to warranty it, so I'm not sure you'd want to pay dealer rates when you may have a competent shop in your area.

Local gear and driveline shop with a good reputation has quoted me $350 for a Dana Spicer installed out the door, said it is the same unit DC uses. Looks like I may have to go for an early Christmas present. Thanks for the input.

Not too shabby.

A diff and labor for $350. That doesn't sound bad. In the hay day of the 5. 0 mustangs, shops would get $100 labor to swap gears and that would be w/ customer supplied parts and fluids.

Seems fair by comparison.

Glad to help.

Enjoy the new rig.
