Hello All

Got a 2005 3500 Quad Cab - bone stock NO lift.
Currently, running Bridgestone Revo 2s - 265/70R17

Want to upgrade to either BFG KM2 MT or Toyo MT in a 285/70 or 285/75.

My problem - The garage opening is only 81 inches.

Would love to mount 35-12.50 but she won't fit in the shop.

So, which tire would you recommend?

I also have a 2012 Rubicon - running 285/75R17 BFG MT - I've put 30k on the set and have had no problems.

Thanks for help

Personally I would go with the Toyo. BFG and I don't get along.

I would also go AT but then I hate the noise of a MT and found the AT in all but heavy mud does as well or better than the MT and get better fuel mileage.

I just put (today) a new set of Goodyear Wrangler AT with Kevlar on my '06 2500 Big Horn, so I can't say yet what I am in for. I stepped up from stock to 285/70/17 size. I replaced a set of worn out Toyo Open Country that didn't even make 30k. In my book, Toyo are POS tires. I have had 3 sets of them.........1 on this '06, and 3 other sets on my 91 First Gen, and the very best I have ever got mileage wise was abour 34k. I am not hard on tires...I keep the recommended inflation, rotate, balance, etc. I am done with them.

Prairie - You've certainly had better luck with them than I have.. Glad you are one of the lucky ones :) Keep on driving 'em !!

You know, that's the odd thing. I read mixed reviews of those tires all the time - one extreme to the other. Of course now they have redesigned the AT (ATII now) and who knows how they will perform.

I've had good luck with the Toyo AT's also first set went 78k and they were'nt done. I now have the AT 2's on 265/75-17 currently about 35k on them looks like I'll be 70+ k its all towing approx 8 to 10k. The step up in tire size does change where you have power for sure. I have a few mod's so I have plenty of power. I also have 3.73 gears so before I was taching pretty good when not in OD. Now I can run 60 real easy pulling the grades right in the sweet spot.
