Yes, the line of fire covers the access hole for the spare tire winch, but the "dodge" specific model has a different mounting system that allows you to remove it by removing 4 phillips screws... I know, not the best, but how often do you actually get to the spare?

The only thing I didn't like was the fact the dodge bar needed mounted upside down (according to the turn signals) and you need to flip the turnsignal wiring side to side... but there is an easy way to do the also... I found that Hoppy makes a "ford extension lead" that is 24" long and had a female flat 4 on one end and a male flat 4 on the other... I simply plugged this into my flat 4 connector (I never use it anyway since the truck has around 7 pin) and then into the line of fire... I then cut the turn signal wires in the extension and reversed them so they flashed correctly... no cutting of the dodge harness, no cutting (and potentially voiding warranty) of the LOF wiring... been like this for almost 2 years now... I even tapped the extension for the running lights on my running boards...

Oh, and get a true LOF, the others don't seem to fair as well... the lOF is a really nice product.

Hey Hoagie here,

I got a Line of fire from my wife for my birthday(Dec) and all I had to do was mount it with the lead to the left side of the unit and then plug it into the flat four plug supplied as part of the wireing harness. I use it along with the seven pin round connection to pull my trailer without any problems. Both work fine together with no problems. I used a couple of rivets to attach the outer ends cause the double side sticker stuff didn't want to attach too well when it was cold. It also makes a tight fit on opening of the tailgate(I have linex sprayed on bed). I will probably remove the attachements sometime this spring and rivet the whole thing making sure to not rivet too close to the spare tire attachment hole so I can flex it up to slide in the attachment.

I love the look in the rearview when backing up into a parking spot next to some restaraunt and seeing all the reflection! :D

I hate to hijack a thread but do all of you guys have a special tool to lower your spare? I have the two piece handle that is by the jack under the passenger seat and niether one will fit in the hole to "unscrew" the mechanism to lower the spare? Am I missing something here???

One of the ends should be a hex and should engage the drive... I almost want to say it is the same end that engages the jack itself?

I had one on with no problems, get it low enough that the tailgate doesn't hit. It slightly covers the spare tire hole, but it could be bent up enough to stick the mechanism in.

mine covers the hole... but the 3m tape blocks that hold it on dont interfere. . all i had to do was make the screws flush mount. . and used stainless screws...
