Line -X Kevlar coating

I just prices a Line -X spray in over rail bedliner and they quoted me $515. and they now have a new Kevlar coating to keep it looking like new for $160. extra. . Has anyone used the new coating before and is it worth it or is it like the protectant coatings the dealers try to sell you when you buy a new truck?

I called my local line-x dealer on saturday at 10 am... I got the recorder that says "leave your name and number and we will get back with you" no word yet...

I guess they feel if they come up with a fix for their liner that fades, they want to charge more for it. .

I'm guessing the kevlar is for cut resistance, not fade resistance.



I've had my Line-X for about 9 months now. I am very happy with it. I've carried and shoveled 1" rock (about 4,000# worth), and have carried three pallets of bricks (at 3500# per pallet) in the back and my Line-X looks great. The pallets of brick had to be slid on (they didn't have a reach truck with enough capacity so they dropped them on the back of my truck and pushed them forward - I has to stand of the brakes to keep the truck from rolling away).



Time will tell on the fade resistance, but it looks better than ANY plastic liner I've ever had. I'd do another Line-X in a heartbeat.

Kevlar is tuff stuff but is definitely sensetive to UV. Sailors who race use it in sails because it is so strong and won't stretch. They sacrifice longevity because the sun degrades it.

I've had very satisfactory service from mine - it was the very FIRST thing done to my truck - still looks great - sure very slight fading, but nothing a decent treatment of the stuff they treat our plastic bumpers with won't make look like new again...



Face it, precious FEW of us apply Line-X to our trucks to make SHOW vehicles out of them!

Ive had my Line-x for about 6 months now. ($400 in Oregon) Ever so slight fade but I think that is from me washing my truck 2 x a week. it is garaged daily and the only sun it sees is on trips. Now, I have my shell back on the truck and it will ge NO SUN. I know that the local dealer here sprays something on the trade in's when they are faded. My guess is the goo they spray on the tires. The only problem I have had with Line-x is the ***hole that owns the local dealer in Grants Pass Oregon. My guess is he isnt depending on repete business. He lost a few bolts when he took my tailgate apart and I was the one that had to go to Dodge and replace them. It really wasnt hard as my 04 2500 was still on the used car lot and the bolts were the same! :-laf

I'll echo the fact that Line-X is the best spray on liner on the major market. My bed was sprayed over the rail when the truck was two weeks old. I treat my truck nice and try not to beat it up any more than I have to. Other than a few abrasions and some slight fading, the bed still looks great. The truck is outside 24-7 and is used to haul regularly. I swear that going with that spray on liner was the best thing I've done.
