Have any of you had your rocker panels line-x'd. I would like to have it done, but not all the way up to the door crease. Having a good pair of running boards (read: tough country) with a nice coating of line x would (I think) greatly increase the resistance of Ohio rust.

Opinions... opinions

Thanks

I had my rocker panels line-x'd up to the bottom of the door crease and it loose great!! Its hard to wash and keep it looking good but a good blasting at the high pressure car washed usually takes care of that.

Its something I would do again.

I did the 06 and it looks and works great. I'll try to get pics. Mud flaps do not help at all. I'm going to have the bumpers done next. I had the rockers done up to the bottom of the molding.

Here is what mine look like. I had them color match it. looks fantastic, and i dont hear rocks beating the shiz out of my truck anymore.

I had my rockers panels and all lower sheet metal done up to the plastic molding, this includes the bottom of the doors up the inside as well about 5". I have a home made custom bumper which I had done as well.

Also had them do all around the wheel wells where the Bush Wacker flares were. Crud was getting in behind them and causing damage. Those flares weren't worth the box they came in. There now in the dump, as even the recycling folks didn't want them.

No regrets, looks good and is impervious to stones and whatever. As previously stated the Linex can a little tricky to keep clean depending on what lands on it.

I had them done to the crease as well as the flares and the front bumper. They color matched and I couldn't be happier.

I did mine years ago. Mine is a Sport and I had it done up to the first line. It really made the truck stand out. I have had it on for 7 years and had no problems with wear thru or having it come off. I have used Castrol Super Clean in a spray bottle. Use a weak solution and it will look like new. I'm planning on doing the bottom 1/2 of the truck to cover up small dings and scratches as well as to protect it from things while in the Texas bush. Also to give the ole girl a fresh look.

I thought of line-xing the rockers and the fenders. Mainly to prevent rust and scratches on the rockers. I have the bushwacker fender flares and they scratched the $@!* out of my fenders. I went to a line-x dealer they quoted me $800 for just the fenders. I did not ask them what it would be for rockers as well but i am guessing $1200 for everything. They said prep work is the most critical part of the entire process they are extremely anal about the whole process which is what i want someone to be when they are working on my truck. They said they would need the truck for at least 2 days which is fine with me.

I am sure that it will look like a million bucks when it is done. Also shop around. I went to another line-ex dealer to get a quote for the fenders and they said $400!! I am more tempted to go to the more expensive shop to get the work done because they seem a lot more meticolous then the less expensive shop.

I had mine done on my '05 Ram up to the crease. Very satisfied with the results and have had lots of favorable comments from others. I used the Kevlar additive in my Line-X coating; it's called Line-Xtra.

The wheels are Brentz 19. 5's - If I remember correctly they are the Thunder II's. I need to polishh them up again. It takes several hours to do... But they are awesome when they shine.

i got my rocker, bed rails done in paint to match line-x, and had the bed sprayed black to cover the rhino liner that was fadded, for 700 at my local linex guys. they had the truck for the better part of a day, and showed me pics of there work. and by all the sanding dust on the floor i can tell they got down good and deep.

Shop around for pricing. One line-x dealer quoted me $800 for the rockers. I got it done for $400 at another.
