Looks like a great idea, to me. But, this magical device is nothing more than a "viscous heater" or sometimes called a "power heater."

They came stock on the Jeep Libertys that had the 2.8 liter CRD engines, as well as a number of other small diesel vehicles, and I must say, they are very nice. The viscous heater is belt driven and is controlled by an electric clutch on the pulley. On a cold day hot air comes out of the heat vents after a little more than a mile or two of driving. The Mopar OEM viscous heater for the Jeep Liberty was made by Denso and runs $455. BTW, the diesel Libertys ALSO came stock from the factory with a plug-in block heater, so it's not either/or. The viscous heater helps to quickly get the engine up to temp even in warm weather, most likely so the emissions control systems can kick in sooner.

This system by USA Diesel seems like a great idea. It seems to be a bit pricey, but there is a lot of work involved with this kind of venture.
