Just recently I learned of a neat tool for owners of 2013 & up RAM / Cummins equipped trucks with the rear water separator.

It's made by Lisle, part number 34900....Water Sensor Wrench.

This tool is used for removing the rear water in fuel sensor attached to the rear water separator.

I'm guilty of using channel lock style pliers on mine. The HACK marks that abound on my WIF sensor illustrates that fact quite well. :-laf I have no crescent wrench that opens wide enough to fit the WIF sensor.

Not sure how long Geno's Garage has been carrying them, but here's a link :

I purchased mine from CarQuest.

One question.....have you actually used your wrench yet? I just received mine from Geno's. I haven't opened it yet but measured my sensor and compared.....the wrench is approximately .150 larger than the sensor. Also, it says right on the package "Fits 2012 and newer Duramax...".

My part number is exactly the same as yours, however the tool has a notch in the wrench that yours does not have.

Also just noticed.....mine is an 8-sided wrench, and yours is 6!

I suspect mine was mis-packaged at the factory.

Yes....I used it for the first time on May 28th......worked great!!!
I actually picked mine up from a CarQuest Distribution Center in Lexington, KY. I wonder if I have an "old stock" piece or if yours is an updated version???

Yup, I had seen that one. I'll be getting an exchange apparently. Still odd that the packaging (even when correct) only mentions it's for a Duramax.

Ha! I got the same wrench as kthaxton. Guess I'll be calling Geno's on Monday. Glad you caught this before I took my filter off. thanks.

I forgot to respond on this....I called Geno's on Tuesday or Wednesday, they said they had just learned of this problem the day before. They just sent out another one and did not want the other one back.

Funny story.....after I learned they didn't want the incorrect one back, I started doing a mental inventory of the guys at work that have Duramaxes so I could give this one away.....When I completed my mental list, I realized I did not like any one of those guys! They're irritating morons. Coincidence? :)

Changed both of the fuel filters today. The water sensor wrench worked great. The engine mounted filter cap was really tight. The 6 point 28mm worked fine, however I was surprised the cap did not break!!!! It turned very slow for over a half revolution. Snoking
