"Lite" travel trailers...

What is the difference between a regular TT and "Lite" TT? Does "Lite" mean no insulation or?

Basically they are built out of lighter weight materials so the can be towed efficiently with a half ton pickup. Thier frames really scare me. They are pretty much boxed sheet metal. Not a solid i beam or channel like the old trailers. I believe the walls are thinner but still insulated if you get the northwest package.

I had a 2000 Nomad "Lite". The frame was heavy steel channel, the construction in the walls were 2x2 with insulation (same thickness as most walls), but the biggest "lite" factor was the lower profile. You will notice a lite trailer's height is reduced to reduce drag. You will loose headroom inside. I'm 6'2" and really enjoy the headroom in a std height trailer.

Look at the Trail Lite brand.

Looks normal from the outside, but walk in and it looks like they used aluminum outdoor picnic furniture. :-laf

I have seen one in person but I went out to the website just to see what you meant. Trail Lite



That doesn't look like aluminum picnic furniture to me.
