I can really not wrap my mind around why someone wants to stick to outdated stuff - except personal preference.

maybe because they already have the old fashioned outdated stuff and it works for them... and don't need to spend more money or make the effort and changes necessary to keep up with the latest greatest fads in RVing.

Almost 20 years old technology the latest and greatest.. to each his own.
I tend to check out the new stuff and if it is great I use it, if not then not.
I'm sure you use a ton of modern stuff in your daily life.

We all have some modern stuff.. for instance I have a flip phone.

How often do you use your RV? I believe you use yours more than most. Specifically boondock more than most. So your benefit or payback from the Li cost (and other upgrades) is easier to justify. Still your perspective gives others including myself something to consider.

Even though I use mine over 30 days a year it still really comes down to cost. Than wondering if the existing batteries are going to last longer than the RV as the RV is 21+ years old.

exactly... give my perspective on it.. I might use the RV 2 months or so every year, but I generally pay for campgrounds that have electricity.. thinking that anybody that goes RVing because they want to be cheap is guilty of living in a financial fantasy world.. LOL.

I can understand the upgrades if a person can use them, but most upgrades don't pass a cost benefit analysis .

Much of this stuff reminds me of the guys we called smokestack sailors... who are the people who put every gadget known to man on their boat but will never take it so far offshore they can't see the smokestacks in town..

honestly, one mans upgrade is another mans PITA... you don't see me doing too much to any vehicle except maintaining and repairing it unless there is a very specific need.. basically I am a strong believer in Run what you Brung mixed with a healthy dose of If it aint broke, don't fix it.

maybe or maybe I'm just wondering out loud in my own unique way how a post that started out as a guy wondering if since his RV is capable of charging a lithium battery and the consensus is yes so it would be a good idea wandered all the way into a full blown solar conversion with multiple lithium batteries, a converter, rooftop solar and a induction stove and now into what is a modification and what is a upgrade? anyway, that is it for me on this thread.. the original question was long ago answered and the rest of us are just opinionating off on a tangent and over the edge of a cliff..
