Just got in from installing a set of new injectors, I am getting fuel but truck will not start. My initial thought was fuel pump not running for some reason but when I turned the key on from outside the truck to listen for the pump I could here a rapid clicking noise. Pump is running and I do have fuel. The clicking noise is coming from under the valve cover, can't tell if it is one or multiple injectors. Right now I am thinking I have gotten wires reversed on an injector or injectors. It's late now and my day starts at 4:30. Will be pulling valve cover off and checking wiring with FSM when I get home tomorrow. Just looking for any other thoughts. Thanks!

Wow, I hate it when stuff doesn't work after butt load of work - I feel for ya!
I could easily be wrong but I don't know that it matters if the wires are reversed to a given injector since they're fired with 90 volts AC (I think).
I do know that any small leak may keep it from building enough pressure for the ECM to allow it to fire. Were the cross over tubes in good shape, no rust? Did you torque them?
Wish I could help you more but there's a lot more knowledgeable guys on here that I'm sure will reply.

Good luck,
Scotty

I was thinking same thing as it is a simple soleniod on the injector but as soon as you turn the key on you here one of them cycling. Couldn't tell which one as everything was buttoned up and it was late. Everything was torqued per procedure in FSM, however any thing is possible and I could have missed one of the tubes on final torque. Just looking for some quick ideas and thougts till I can get back to it this evening and start diagnosing. The rapid clicking from under the valve cover is what has me scratching my head as it WAS not there before and is definatly coming from under the valve cover.

The clicking with the key in the on position is normal. Its injectors 1 and 6 cycling the solenoid to purge air and pressure from the rail in preperation for starting.

Doesn't mean you don't have a wiring problem though.

Might have to give it a shot of some type of starting to fluid and see if it will run once started,

What injectors did you use for replacement? Who from?

Brand new 60 HP from Industrial Injection from TC Dieasel. Will give it a litle more time to cycle air out and unhook grid heaters and try a little starting fluid when I get home before I start taking every thing back apart.

As long as you have fuel to the CP-3 it should start almost immediately if everything is good. Have you checked fuel filter and fuel to the CP-3 yet?

PROBLEM SOLVED !!! Finally got home from work and and got to look closer at things in the daylight, to make a long story short I (don't you hate using that one little word) forgot to tighten number one injection line at the rail. Had fuel every where. Soon as I tightened it up the old girl fired right up. Just want say thank you for those who offered advise and also thank you to Todd at T&C Diesel for the great service.
