Well i was messin around with fuel screw on the injector pump earlier, and i turned it in a little bit, and it idled it up. Now the problem. When i was driving down the road, i let off of the throttle, and it kept on going! It takes about 2-3 seconds after you let off of the throttle for it to idle back down. Whats the deal with that?

Also, can i just adjust the idle screw back down to lower the idle to make up for turning the fuel screw in? I dont have a tach, im just playing by ear but its probly idling about 400 rpms higher than normal

You'll need to back off the fuel screw. You got it turned it too far. You are losing governor control. Not all pumps are created equal nor react the same to pump tweaks.

HOW MANY TURNS DID YOU GO IN? I have gone in 2 turns before and only got 200-250 rpm extra. I'd back it out a half turn and start there. Might have to go back more. Like Bill said, not all pumps are created equal

The problem is you could get into a runaway situation, when the pump won't back off, like you describe. Then you'll have to choke out the motor someway to stop it before it grenades itself.

That is true as I am finding out. Both my 92 and 93 are "Bottomed" with no hint of a runaway. I kept turnig 1/4 at a time trying to find the "edge of the envelope" and never got there.

I have adjusted many pumps and found only one that would not run-off. All the others have this spot I seem to find that the speed will "hang up" at and I know I need to go back the other way some to gain drivability.
