Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) location of the Cummins engine number

Where is the Cummins engine number located on my 98. 5, 24valve engine?

timing cover on left front of the engine. stand by the left front fender look at the fan look back and down. its a long metal plate . you may need a flash light to see it. good luck.

If your looking for a "53" god forbid. Just above the oil pan sealing surface, left front.
