Wondering if anyone has had the lock button stop working on the drivers side door. Locking work but when pressing unlock, there's nothing happening. Has anyone opened one up to clean and or adjust? Thanks for the help.

Have not but found some stuff on this one that goes over the resistance values of the switch positions that might be useful.

Maybe someone else will comment before heading this direction with hands on experience.

I'll pull and try to compare the locking circuit to the unlock circuit. It's probably a moisture issue that finally took it out after all the times it's had water from rain when rolling window down to door open when raining/snowing!

Not saying this is or may be your issue, but on my 3rd GEN, I was having intermittent functional issues with the master control switch and it turned out to be cracked broken power connection solder joints between two circuit boards (one board is the 4 windows and locks? the other board is mirrors?) I simply re-soldered the two pins and it was fixed and never gave me trouble again... TO check you have to remove door panel, remove mstr switch and split the plastic case, but it saved me a few hundred bucks for a replacement.

Oh and you might need a magnifying glass... I used a magnifying camera set up we have at work in our electronics lab to take that photo... I probably couldn't see it no without my I phone mag light....:rolleyes:

Pulled out the magnifying lamp that I use for electronic repairs. Found no bad solder joints and carbon pads are making contact on board. Found an aftermarket for $30 to try. This way I'm not out big $ if it's something else. Still trying to trace wiring diagram to see what I may be missing. Wish I had a garage to work in! that wind blowing up the trousers is rough! Need to put on the fleece lined and insulated bibs! Not really going to warm up till late next week. I know I shouldn't complain since there are much colder areas! Thanks @Timd32 and @bcbender for the info! I learned to be careful when separating the switch, Pieces fell onto the floor and took me a few minutes to figure out how and where they went!

Glad you have a work around, not sure about the 4th gen switches, I had a similar eperience with another switch assy, springs and levers went EVERYWHERE.... Oh and yeah... I'm not going to tell you what the temp is in my shop then especially by the fireplace... Soldier on, its cold as #$%# here in NC, Im sure MD is even worse.

I've had that happen a couple of times on my truck and once on my wife's truck. I think I'm on my third switch assembly for the driver's side door. It did some really weird stuff when it went bad on my truck the first time. I thought I had a FOB going bad, possibly the RF hub as well. Took it to the dealer the first time around as it was covered under warranty. All they did was replace the lock switch assembly in the driver's side door and everything worked fine. They second time the lock button stopped working was out of warranty (no extra drama that time). I just ordered a new switch assembly and replaced. Been good ever since. When the one on my wife's truck went bad, it was just the lock button that wouldn't work. No extra drama on her truck. I replaced her switch assembly as well and it's been fine ever since.

Update: Got new switch in and all is now good. Found out what cause the issue so that others can be aware of it. My 4 legged shotgun rider would stand out the buttons and burned out the circuit! Now have to fab a cover for it to prevent him from burning this one out!

@AH64ID, When parked. He'd lock me out all the time that I have to have an extra key on me or at least have the window down! Lesson learned. Hope that this can help others before they have similar issue.
