How do I wire up the OD switch, and do you guys only use it when racing?

Do you just leve the stock OD button in the on position and hit the new OD switch once into 3rd?

How much did you gain out of it?

Does the check engine light up on the ATS and DTT comander?

The od switch is supposed to be wired just like a lockup switch... tap a certain wire coming out of the pcm and use the new switch to ground said wire when you want to. No, I don't know as of yet which wire that is (I'll know saturday after doing mine). Stock OD button should be left in the ON position (ie, so it WILL shift into OD). The new od switch isn't to actually shift into OD. It's to make the transmission prepare for the shift sooner so you don't have the big long pause at the top end of third gear, waiting on the shift into 4th.



It's like deja-vu all over again... i remember just typing this on the previous page...

WEIRD today I started up the truck and no light but then the next time I started it was back????

is the mystery switch basically the same as the BD rad I have

I don't think it's like the RAD. I believe the rad is the anti-defueling device so you can build boost.



Figured out today that the OD wire is the solid brown one in the same connector as the lockup wire.



Also found out today that I'm probably not going to use my OD switch. At WOT my new transmission shifts perfectly at ~3100 RPMs... just exactly what is wanted, and no pause. I'm leaving the switch in just in case though, and will really test it out in about 2 weeks at the drag strip.



Lockup switch is nice too! I was just playing with it on the way home and didn't need brakes to slow from 80mph to 45... just leave it locked in 4th, then take it off and brake from 45 to a stop.



Oh, and 2-3 shift locked-to-locked is a very interesting experience...

Does this appear to be a NO NO for a stock transmission? I am probably going to put this switch in but had thought of using this for Dyno pulls. If I used this at Drags am I really pushing my luck?
