My girlfriend is on the market for some lockable storage for her ram 2500 qc short bed. I perfer something that requires access from the inside of the truck. suchas lockable underseat compartment for the rear, lockable glovebox door, lockable under hood storage (hood release inside of cab). she perfers something that is not universal and is specifically for her truck.

I know theres such things as tool boxes, tail gate storage boxes, and reciever hitch locks. But anyone can steal a tool box. short beds are even shorter with toolbox. anyone can steal a tailgate. tail gates are often victims to damage. reciever hitch locks dont allow you to leave the 2" ball mount in in case of getting rearended. Plus interior accessed storage boxes are compatable with factory alarm system and require a 2nd key or damage to the truck. Her regular thief is one that she cant report to the police, shoot with her gun, and her mom wont damage the truck to get to her money and other belongings.

Oh another option if any of yal out there is into clean looking fabrication and has access to one these 3rd gens I might be willing to purchase a lock box from you.

Heres some ideas for you to build:

1. remove rear fold flat storage and make a lockable lid that installs in its place.

2. aluminum lock boxes that fit perfectly (drop in) in the door pockets with attachment bolts for the sole purpose of keeping them from breakin loose in collison.

3. lock boxes to fit behind rear seats of QC. theres plenty on space in there as I have stored stuff back there in the past on my truck.

4. lock boxes that fit under hood that are water tight that mount in an area where they dont interfer with popular Performance parts for the cummins.

5. maybe i am not looking at the truck right now. but what if you could remove the tray from the glove box door and mount a lock box behind the glove box door but have a way to remove the box from inside of the box to access the components behind the box. this way people can also fit more crap in there glove boxes and actually close the lid.

just tossin some ideas out there that would work for use probably other Ram owners. I have got 2 2004. 5's that I would equip with some kind of lock box.
