Ive always felt a lock was there to keep the honest or casual criminal out. A real one will get in.



Shame on the lock industry to know about it, and not correct the problem.

Doing it requires a specialy cut key, if I remember right. also a lock is only as good / strong as the wood frame its put in too and the glass window next to it. Get an alarm and limit the time they have in your house while you are out

The lock industry HAS responded and fixed the problem. Look at Medico and MultiLock.

I remembered seeing it on the news a long time ago. I just never worried about it. For me it was silly to worry about the lock being bumped when i got 20 ground floor windows and a glass sliding door. I locked myself out of the house once I was back inside in 30 seconds after i knocked out a garage door window and let myself back in. I guess it would be a concern to someone in an apartment with a steel frame door and no other access from the ground but for a home owner its just not somerthing to really worry about. I highly recomend an alarm for all homes even if you dont have it monitored because the bad guy won't know if you do or not
