I think the dodge dealers can make keys, but I did the same two years ago, and thats how i solved the problem. As for breaking in...

Now I don't feel to bad. Have not done it on my truck--yet. But I did it on a Honda I had and had to call Pop-A-Lock. And I did this at work so everybody heard about it.

call the d/c number on the warantee or your local dodge dealer. They will have it unlocked in about 15 sec. If not wedge a small block of wood in between the window and the door and insert a jimmy.

Don't you have AAA, what about that 800# on your warranty; I had to use a couple of time(not for the same reason)but I think they can even give you the numbers to have new keys cut.

I locked my keys in with the engine running at Augie's Dodge last Fri. They got the serial # and cut a new key. When I offered to pay for it they said " no charge " They also sponser the "Sandia Showdown" each spring. Not a 5 screw dealer. That is just one reason they are a good dealer. .

Rear slider you say? Take a rag and a wide flat blade screw driver. Pry open the rear slider by twisting the screw driver. Use rag to surround screw driver to prevent scratches. Use a broom handle (or a skinny kid to slide through) to pop the door lock up. I was able to do it in my truck and no damage to rear slider.

Been there, done that. . (locked keys in truck that is) I drilled a 1/8" hole in the right slider, about a 1/4" to the right of the left side of said slider. Right behind the locking clip. Then just use a drill bit,
coat hanger or what ever to push through the 1/8" hole and pop open the locking clip. .
To cover the hole, I used a dab of black silicone gasket sealer. No one can see the hole but if needed again, a coat hanger or such can push right through the silicone. .

Never done it on my Dodge but many other trucks with sliders. Use a putty knife or hack saw blade and insert it at the latch angled towards the drivers side, it should pop the latch and you're in.

illflem is right on. Pop the slider with a putty knife. It is quick. . easy and not damage.

Do not use the coat hanger in the door trick. Once you get your keys out, open your door and notice the shape of the frame and you will understand why. You will see that the door fram actually is rounded and the coat hanger will only scratch the heck out of your paint and tear up your weather stripping.

If that don't work... seriuosly... call road side assistance. They will help you out and it is covered under warranty.

Kev

Ya'll are right about how easy it is to get in the rear slider; "they" took off with about $400 of my tools . Now I have an anti-theft headache rack; "they" can open the slider, but can't get in..... a magnetic hide-a-key hidden on the truck has saved my bacon a couple of times.

i locked mine in the truck with it running at the gas station , still can't figure out what locked it after i got out , has happened to me a few times , i usually have my other set of keys on me . the police were able to slim jim there way in , took about 5 mins .

Called the Dodge dealer and had them cut me a new key, and drove 35 miles to get key. It was a great day, about 75 degrees and no wind, so we took the Miata(like we had a choice), top down.

Called the Police station, and they told me they don't come out in the country. The nearest lock smith is about 35 miles away, and there was no answer anyway.

Hate to say it, but the wife locked them in there. She brought me to the field and was gonna clean my truck form the inside. The spare key was in her purse, her purse was in the truck. She felt bad.

Thanks for all the replys.

The Jeep keys where locked in the truck too. Seems like I keep everything in my truck, not always a good thing.

There is a real easy way to get into a Dodge Ram without any damage (if it has power door locks). You need about a three foot length of 1/8" welding or brazing rod. All you have to do is slide the rod in at the top rear corner of the door and aim it forward until you hit the power door lock button and push it forward. I have opened a few for fellow coworkers. In fact I carry a piece under my bed-mat just in case I make that mistake.

Johnrv4, For reasons previously mentioned, I have hidden a key on the outside of my truck, but will put that 3 foot of brazing rod in the tool box just incase I run into someone else who needs entry.
Good idea!

I carry 2 keys all the time, then I can leave the truck running and lock it when I run away for a little while.

My cure for the problem is I had a spare key that fit the door on all the vehicles that I drive and put them in my wallet, never locked out.

This topic is going to turn into How dumb do I feel. So here goes, jumped out on the highway to secure a door on the tool box and hit the door lock button on the way out! **** now what? used a slim jim and rags to pry the door away from the cab, and with along flat piece of metal pushed open the power switch. Don't laugh I've had to do it aleast three times since then!

get a slim jim from aw direct and tape is to the frame, inside of frame and get a wedge, for the door, and a hideakey helps too, We unlock cars everyday on our lot. for 15. 00 you get the tools and open up others guys truck to, it will pay for the tools real fast
