Wade, do you have a sliding rear window and a small woman or a kid handy ? If not I know nothing about breaking in ... ... ... . Kevin

If you have a long fairly stiff thin peice of rod, CB antenna works really well, and the keyless remote is within sight you can slide the rod throught the seal area at the top of the door and push the button. Or push the lock/unlock button on the door.

The simplest way, if a dealer is close by, is to have a key cut from the VIN of the truck. Otherwise, a locksmith can get in it with a lock-out kit.

The last time my keys got locked in (in front of a prty store with the truck running) a locksmith came out and didn't even pick the lock. He went in through the window I think. It only took him about ten seconds.....

At least I think it was a locksmith... ... ... ...

nevermind why, both my keys and the keyless are locked up in the truck. Quad with now SRW.

What's the best way to get in.

I've done it myself a couple times.

Use a coat hanger and patience. Go through the door or rear slider. I *may* have popped open the CC window and reached in to unlock the door, but I don't remember exactly.

If you left a front window cracked, it should be *truly* trivial to lift the lock with a coat hanger, or push/pull the doorlock switch.

Thanks ALL

I was in a frustrated rage when I posted originally. "now SRW" meant "no Sliding Rear Window". I was able to locate a local locksmith (wasn't easy--not in the phonebook) and he got in with a fancy coat hanger on the door lock. Of course he got lost on the way out here.

Rest of the story: I incidentally tripped the door lock switch while working on a radio installation. And then, later whoopsed the door closed and the windows happened to be up and the AM/FM playing real loud.

Meanwhile I had three people waiting on me for a double date. I would have left it, but couldn't with the radio blaring.

I'm pretty dang good at getting into Fords, but this was my first Doggie deal. We used gun cleaning rods to reach all the way across a Bronco II (yuuuk) once -pushed the button. I can get into my F-150 with a coat hanger in 3 minutes flat.

Another part of the deal was that I'd just got this truck back from a paint/body repair and just wasn't going to scratch it up trying to get in.

And I was haveing ISP problems and wasn't even sure if this post went up at all.

Thanks again:rolleyes:

There will be a key attached to the outside of this truck before the sun sets tomorrow.

Date was fine, we set up my buddy with her buddy and they hit it off pretty good. We went bowling and that dang girlie of mine rolled a 168 and 185 for the last two games. :--)

So I called for a rematch (cuz' she was rubbin it in a bit much). Sunday we bowled again (this time I had my bowling bag) and I racked up a 233!

Hey Wade......

Glad to see you got into your ride and the date went well. I have a suggestion for your minor debacle of getting her to rub it in your face about winning. Go to the alley and get set up,just let me know when your going to do it. I'll make sure my son is with me. You go throw a ball and pretend your arm is hurt and I'll send my son to sub for you. He's hot off a career 828(299,250,279) series in his junior league last week and would fill in for you. Let me know if it will help,LOL... ..... Andy

Sliding rear works best :)

I lost my truck's aftermarket remote clicker at a party (on the beach at dark of course) and locked my keys in my car. The party ended, I realised I lost my keys and was blocking everyone in the driveway. . I popped open the rear slider pretty quickly and got under the dash, unhooked the alarm and had the ram started and moved aside in about 3 minutes. . drunk as a skunk. . I can't believe it worked... needless to say I never bothered hooking up and using my spare alarm clicker after that. .

Wade, hopefully you've gotten into your truck by now. I've locked myself out a few times too. The best way to get back in the saddle is to go to your dealer. Take you VIN with you (along with some ID --- like your drivers license) and they can make you a key for $5. They have your vechile in their computer and can get your key code from the VIN. I carry a spare key in my wallet now. Good Luck

Remote access

My remote keyfobs have gotten gradually worse. In my driveway and certain other places they work fine, but in many locations they are useless. Really seems to be location more than anything else.

Batteries have been replaced twice with no change.

Where is the antenna and reciever on the truck for this keyless entry system. I do NOT have a security system.

Michael

Dunno about the receiver. Have wondered about it. I'm sure it's in the manual, but I haven't looked for it.

Get a new transmitter from DC.

I can still trip mine from quite a distance.

Used to be a product available at the locksmiths called a "credit card key. " It looked just like a credit card, but had a key in the middle that could be cut to fit your ignition. Wasn't a key you would have wanted to used regularly, but it would work in an emergency... ;)

Here in Anchorage the cab company can also get you into a locked vehicle. The dispatcher will send cab with a driver trained in using the Slim-Jim. After logging car and your ID info, he will produce the Slim-Jim for the vehicle (Ford,Dodge, etc. ) and get you in.
