Off Roading lockers

i didnt know where to post this because it is not dodge diesel related so if this is in the wrong spot sorry but i wanted to know if you can run an air locker or any locker in a 1997 grand cherkoee with quadra trac or will it break something or not work at all. thanks richard.

Yes you can. BUT... if you have the D-44 rear... be advised you may not find one to fit. The Grand Cherokees use an aluminum D-44... and NONE of the parts are interchangeable from any other D-44.

SO unless you find one specific for the Grand Cherokee... you;re SOL.

BUT if you have the D-35 or the chrysler 8. 25 rear you will have no problems at all.

Except for potentially snapping axleshafts .



RBratby, what size tires are you planning on running on the ZJ?

Aww...come on. Who doesn't like snapping an axle shaft now and then? LOL... you are correct though.

go 4lo i will only be running like a 31 10 50 or in that area for tires. what do you think about that size is it big enough or to small. thanks

It should be fine. You would be amazed at the difference just a good set of tires makes on even a stock rig. Sure you won;t be fording 4' deep mud BUT that's not everyone;s cup'o'tea anyhow.



31's will look and perform really well on the ZJ.
