I have a 2001 2500 4x4 auto. Best I can tell the TC locks at about 35-40mph. Is there a way to lock the TC up earlier, say at 10-15mph? I'm thinking like a plug in type mod or would a whole new TC be needed?
Transmissions are kinda my weak point, knowledge wise, but my thoughts are: if the TC were locked sooner I may get better mileage, performance and transmission life. Or am I way off on this one?
Would there be any down points to locking up earlier? Are there any easy to install controllers out there that would do this for me. I would really prefer not to have to drop the pan, do VB work or have to replace the TC to have this, remember I'm dumb when it come to Transmissions. Cheap and easy ( just like me) would be preferable.
If anyone has done this what has been your experience and opinions of locking up sooner. Good, bad or indifferent? BTW I rarely tow real heavy and occasionaly haul heavy in the bed, other than that pretty much empty most of the time.
Thanks
