There are a few possible causes of this. In my case it was leaking crossover tubes and possibly a bad injector(s). My cranking times slowly got longer and longer and finally led to no start situations. The ECM has to see a minimum rail pressure before it will fire the injectors and a leak may cause the low pressure condition. Some have had a bad fuel control actuator, low cranking speed due to a battery condition, filter problems etc. There has been a lot of discussions here on this topic. Sorry to not be of more help but a search will get you a lot of ideas or maybe some one more knowledgeable will chime in.
If your lift pump is not failing, it's on borrowed time. You can get a stock replacement from Geno's Garage for under $200. 00 800-755-1715.
At 107k you are also a candidate to have your cross tubes retorqued. Which if you are at all mechanically inclined you can do yourself.
Provided your injectors are in good condition, and you've not said anything that would make me believe otherwise, these two items/procedures should get you back to normal.
As stated LP,Tubes,Inj,FCA,IP, all can cause this issue, the most likely LP/FCA,if these check out its going to be Injectors, We do have test sensors for all of these. a Small deposit is required.
Thank youslow six, jjpage and twest. I replaced my almost 8 year old batteries. But it still cranks longer than normal. I lost the bolt that holds the battery in place. So twest,me messing with a sensor is out of the question. I could dry up a wet dream if youknow what I mean. . I'm lucky I can change my oil and fuel filter. I'm going to call a place in jersey to get them to check it out. Thank you again.
same problem now i cant fire it up but when we used a starscanner it showed that the first injector did leak or the guy told me it showed that. . so is it just a new set of injectors for me then or could it be anywhere else? all my injectors was leaking they told me but the first one was really bad
The starscanner WILL never show witch injector(s) are leaking, it dose not have the capacity to measure volume... however it is either they are really stupid or are out right lying. Never let the dealer put in Chrysler junk remans In. If fact we don't recommend remans unless you are selling the vehicle in the near (Very) near future.
but he could take off one injector at the time right? because when he did one thing the noise was the same but when he put those other injectors it was a very bad noise like 4cylinder.
but i saw the scanner it messured something but was it from the cp3 or the rail or what pressures/flow or what it was did we see?
the problem is that in europe we normaly dont have dodge ram an in finland its just a few so the dealer dosent now much of them and have almost not worked with them at all because everything is private import. . HOW should i look for the problem where to BEGIN? please help
