Long Drive/New Car Part 2

I put 1500 miles on my new CTD driving back to San Diego from Kellogg Idaho. Great trip. The truck ran like a dream. I am very impressed how unobtrusive the engine noise is. The only complaint I have is the driver side window makes a noise that's annoying. I'll get it fixed. I have a 4X2 so I didn't have any of the drive train vibration issues.

I took the first 500 miles easy (dealer told me not to use cruise control during this time because it might cause some issues with various sensors in the engine. . I followed the advice. My route was 395 to the Columbia River Gorge and then over to the I-5.



Mileage. . I found a 1mpg descrepancy between the OHC and hand calculations. I didn't top off the fuel, but ended the fill the same way each time (shut it down after the second vacuum stop).

OHC read 20. 5 most of the way/hand calc indicated 21. 5. All highway of course. I am very happy with these numbers and know that they will improve over time with hard work on the engine. Whatta great driving truck! Took a neighbor for a drive and he couldn't believe how nice it looked and drove.



Dave Smith's is a great place. No pressure, good service, excellent price. I paid 32,400 for mine and it has everything except GPS.

Woohoo!! Another "GOOD MPG" 600 report! This gives me hope for my '05.

Thats better MPG than mine I'm still at 16. 5 with 3500 on the clock. Now get over to DMV with your checkbook, and don't forget to get a certified weight ticket, they WILL NOT accept the shipping weight from your invoice.
