Long-lived batteries

Dumb question, why can't you change one battery at a time so as not to loose programing etc. I know that you have to be care full not to let the loose cables touch anything.

That's how I did it. I was just very careful and wrapped the pos. lead in a heavy cloth, then tied it up out of the way so it couldn't move.

That is how I did it, one battery at a time. I don't think it matters but I did passenger side first, then driver's side.
