I will be storing my '00 3500 for a few months. What advice can I find for keeping the fuel in the system fresh? Are there preferred additives that will keep the fuel in good shape?

Thanks

Bill

Check out PRI-D. Also additives for bunker crude. PRI-D is available from Campers World, West Marine, Boaters World. Company in Houston TX area. Check their web site for more places to buy it.

Pretty much any additive will be sufficient from a reliable source. Couple of other ideas from expirence. Put a small plate of baking soda on driver and passenge side floor board to keep moisture under control. Pest bait all around the vehicle to keep from tearing up ducts, wires etc... If the truck is a standard get a stick or a rod to depress the clutch pedal about half way to keep the disk from getting stuck to the pressure plate and flywheel. This has happened to me on 67 Camaro, tried putting the transmission in nuetral and rocking the car till it came free but that did not work. I ended up pulling the transmission to un seize the disk off the flywheel. Now the pedal stays halfway depressed for a long stow. And the last thing I can think of is jacking the truck up (keeping suspension loaded to keep the springs from fatigue) to keep from flat spotting the tires (armorall the tires all over as well).

Hope this helps you,

Sean

You shouldnt worry about the fuel for a few months.

Any decent addative will be fine. I use Power service diesel kleen.

Just be sure to have the tank topped off. Less chance of condensation that way.

Eric

PS I'm currently running fuel through my truck that's been at least 1 year in storage.

I recently returned after my tour in Iraq where mine was stored with a full tank w/powers diesel additive. It was stored for 15 month inside a shop building. Fired right up and ran normal throughout the tank. I also have had off road fuel that has been in a bulk storage tank outside for over a year before it was used for heavy equipment and had no problem except water. Since it was out in the sun it will have some condensation develope. Jim
