Does anyone have information or advise on precautions and procedures for long term parked storage of these trucks. I might have to park my truck for 6-12 months and I'm concerned about seals drying out, dry start after storage, etc. Any suggestions appreciated.

Cdrider, For long term truck storage, some popular suggestions, fresh oil,oil filter, chassis lube,disconnect/remove batteries, keep batteries in a warm place OFF the ground. Next would be jack up truck, support on stands or similar to take weight off springs. I would also cover the truck and wheels/tires with a truck cover. Also try to close all openings(firewall, floorpan etc. ) to keep out rodents. ,etc. I would also seal the exhaust pipe with duct tape or similar, etc. to keep moisture out of exhaust. Hope this helps. Rick

I second everything Rick said. Additionally, before actually firing the engine when done with storage, I would 'pre-lube' the internals by disconnecting the fuel shut-off solenoid wire (I think that's what it's called; anyway, it's the blue wire going into the top rear of the injection pump). Then, crank the engine for a couple of 10-second bursts. This will get the oil pump to lubricate everything for the initial start up. I've read that the fine oil film left over after running the motor is gone in 7-10 days, so this procedure would help the internally lubricated parts after the vehicle has sat for longer than a week. Hope this helps!:D
