Stock truck from purchase 9-07, 265 miles. Just before long trip in May, 09, I added AIRAID MXP filter and box with extra intake. I also unplugged the EGR, and bagged the connections, as advised by RAM3500dually.

Mileage at start of trip, 12893, running solo, with a couple of suitcases.

Mileage at end of trip, 18332, towing box style utility trailer, 11760 GCVW

From the beginning, the truck has averaged around 13 mpg. Last 4 fillups were, respectively, 13. 1; 15; 13. 5; 12. 2, and usually around 10 mpg when towing. I figured the extra couple of mpg I would get from the filter would help amortize the cost, and I was willing to put up with the rough running to get the advantage from the EGR unplug. I wish now I had gone with the AFE PG 7, but at the time, I didn't have the cash, and I did not realize the gains I would see.

May 1st, 12893 miles, 12. 7 mpg, Auburn, WA

May 2nd, 13379 miles, 19. 2 mpg, Caldwell, ID

May 2nd, 13792 miles, 18. 4 mpg, Springville, UT

May 3rd. (A little 4 wheeling in McInnis Canyon, Colorado; I was ahead of schedule, and the trails were soooo tempting)

May 3rd, 14293, 20 mpg, Denver, CO

May 3rd, 14770, 17. 4 mpg, Salina, KS

May 4th, 15356, 17. 8 mpg, Haubstaudt, Indiana

Return trip was towing a boxy utility trailer, with all my daughters stuff. She graduated with a Masters, and is coming home, yay!

May 16th, 15834 miles, 13. 9 mpg, Haubstaudt, IN

May 16th, 16297 miles, 13. 3 mpg, Topeka, KS

May 17th, 16618 miles, 11. 7 mpg, Colby, KS

May 17th, 16852 miles, 12. 6 mpg, Denver, CO

May 18th, 17206 miles, 14. 8 mpg, Green River, UT

May 18th, 17639 miles, 15 mpg, Burley, ID

May 19th, 18066 miles, 14. 2 mpg, Hermiston, OR

Still have over 1/4 tank in truck, will fill up in the next few days to get finish.

Trip south was 4 days, 2679 miles. Return was 3 days, and 2707 miles.

I know I would be in trouble if I was reporting HOS, but here I figure it is OK.

So, if you have an 07. 5 truck, the air intake is worthwhile, and the EGR delete helps. It only runs rough now once in a while. ??? It would be nice if I could have done one, then the other, but did not want to wait to see the benefits. Have a trailer trip coming in June, will be curious to see what the heavy towing comes out to.
