8 weeks tommorow with no end in sight. Area rep said nope to a g56 swap. On the good side of things, it will be like getting a new truck, I hardly remember what it is like after putting on 200 + miles per day in my 98 12v "work" truck. I did inquire about trading it in, but they must not have felt to sorry for my truck being in the shop because I did not get any kinda deal.
 
I can't believe (well I can) that they can't find a transmission somewhere. They're on Ebay. There are members on here who have them. There are transmission shops all over the country that have them. You must be a patient man, SD!
 
you have alot of patience... i would be there every day telling perspective customers my story :-{} ... and bugging dealer to death. there is no excuse making you wait that long,and with no end in sight. they would be glad to buy back or fix if i had the time to pester them enough... just my opinion. good luck,mike

That would accomplish little, if anything. The selling dealership does not manufacture parts at the dealership. :rolleyes:



A well constructed letter to DC and / or a vist with the District Rep would get the ball rolling much quicker than bashing a dealership that has no control over procuring a part as large as a transmission.

9 weeks tomorrow. I don't think DC is dragging their feet. I think they fell over and twisted their ankle and can't get up.



Is DC and NV in a bout of gargantuan proportions because they went with the g56? Is that why there are no new nv5600's or any new parts being made for them????
 
If there was no new trannies last week, or the weeks before, what makes you think you will ever get your truck back? They stock rebuilt NV5600's at NADP in Edmonton and they could have you one by tomorrow. Hope things work out soon.

Parts are out there, just not through D/C's channells. Have my original redone and will be installing by years end just to make sure this one is O. K. , and if I don't blow the present one by then, use it for a spare. These freakin' things are way too heavy to change out on a regular basis!! :eek:
 
hi all,this thread just keeps amazing me... . there is no way i could do without my truck that long. the parts are out there. the lawyer needs to encourage them alittle. i hope you can resolve soon. mike
 
Got to be a customs thing. You know, we can bring anything in in days but can't get anything shipped out.
 
Another update. The transmission has been done and was shipped out of Warren Michigan on Oct 27th 2006. As far as I know it has not hit Red Deer and then it has to be shipped to Dawson Creek. So I figure by next Friday I should have my truck back. Be around 11 weeks in total.
 
Call me stupid, but wouldn't it have just been cheaper and a little faster to have had your original rebuilt by Standard Transmission or Blumenthauls and just forsake what DC calls warranty? :--)
 
I called the Dealership on Wednesday. They said my transmission was shipped out of Warren Michigan on the 27th of October. They did remove the transmission AUGUST 25th and my truck has been tossed into the parking lot of the dealership ever since. Paying for it myself was almost an option. I need a truck for work, but luckily I have my reliable 98 12v. If not I would have had a transmission in there within a week from any source! I can not afford not to work! So I waited them out. Was tempted to trade it in... . but for a $100 dollar deductable I can wait a few months. I have a little Scottish blood in me!
