I am thinking on adding a pusher in addition to my stock LP, and was wondering what kind of life you guys have been seeing from the various Mallory, Carter and PE pumps out there. It seems that from what I've read the PE seem to be lasting the longest, and the Carters second. How many miles are getting out of them??

Kev,

I think the the PE is more of a replacement for the stock LP instead of an add on pusher. The pressure is too high to be a pusher.

I am getting one of the PE 4200's to use as my only pump located as close to the tank as possible.

20 months and 55,000 miles on a Carter pusher with a stock pump at the engine. Still working great - no loss in fuel pressure so far. Went through 4 stock pumps in the 60,000 miles before that.

The PE pump is for sure a single use only system, not meant to be used as a pusher. My 4100 lasted only 9 months. I was probably the only member running the 4100 ( test case). PE has made some changes to the bypass on the 4200 and that's what I'm using now. After speaking to the guys at PE, they stated that they have about 25 4200s running in our applications, so far so good. That being said, I know that none of them have much more than 8-9 months on them, so time will tell.

I wasn't aware that the the PE was a complete replacement for the stock LP. Good to know  . Of the Carters that have failed (for those that have had them fail), what was the failure ? Mechanical ? Electrical ?

Cant exactly remember the volume numbers on the 4200 (or any PE for that matter)... but how does the stock filter system handle the significantly higher GPH rating of the PE? Does the stock system only allow so many GPH and the rest is bypassed?
