With an $11,000 starting bid - seems like a new factory crate would be cheaper and less risk than a salvage engine.

You are probably correct. Think I have seen other crated Cummins in the $6,000-$7,000 range.

That makes it a very expensive transmission.

New NV5600 is $3975 from the dealer and a NV241DHD transfer case is around $1100 and I'm sure the 271/273's are more than the 241. So its a very spendy transmission



EDIT: $3975 is for a remanufacture NV5600 from the dealer but I think you can get them for around 3k at other places while they last.
