Lookin for 04 vs 04.5 infomation

Just bought an 04 ish 3500 2wd 6 speed.

I have many plans for add-ons but need to understand the differences between the 04 and 04. 5 trucks including:

how to tell what I bought

what are the differences

what to be aware of



Current mopars owned.

04 3500 as above

99 crysler sebring vert

98 Ram 1500 4x4

89 Ram 3500 diesel ( for Sale )

88 Chrysler Conquest TSI (for Sale )

72 charger 440 auto

71 GTX Hemi 4spd

70 Superbird 440+6 4spd

On the valve cover is the engine data plate... if it is 305HP, it is an 04... if it is 325HP, it is an 04. 5...



Not really much difference other than 4" exhaust with a cat and different programming to get the HP...
