Hello all,

Almost saved enough for the #10 plate, injectors, transmission, valve body and TC, but had some ex-wife issues come up. Could use help with some easy power until I am ready to build the best foundation. You can tell by my sig. the meat of what I have, I just added an AFE. (I have the HX35W)

I am going to remove and plate over the EGR, and order the AFE spring kit tommorrow. So here are some questions for the pros: Will these two simple mods be worth the work until I am ready to install the above listed mods. ? What is the best way to increase boost!!! and lower the EGT!!! in the mean time as well?

I took a ride in my buddies bomber and now I have the bug. It might be time to sell the old Ford flatbed, but until then any and all advise is welcome and appreciated.

... take your plate out. :D

I made about 8 dyno pulls on Sunday night with my '94. 3 just as I drove it in the door... and 3 after I pulled the plate (then some 1/4 mile pulls).

295hp to the wheels with plate

374hp to the wheels without the plate

Do it at your own risk (as if something bad will happen... haha!) and watch them EGT's...

Fresh DTT transmission, 370's, OEM 131 DV's, OEM WH1C (non-wastegated 16cm²), PDR 3k GSK, 3" exhaust (with muffler), BHAF - simple as that.

Only thing about pulling the plate with stock transmission is slippage. At least it was an issue in my truck with the NV-4500. Dont know about automatics. I have had the plate out for about 12,000 miles with no problems. Like he said watch out for EGT's. Plug the wastegate for more boost, just dont go past 35 PSI.

Thanks for the info. I think I will have to pull it and make a couple test drives to see what plateless looks like for the EGT's.

What is the risk to my AT with pulling the plate? Do I plug the waste gate or adjust it. (Where is the best place to plug that sucker?)

Will pulling my EGR and putting in a AFC spring kit do much for me if I have to put the plate back in because my EGT's are too high?(I do have to pull a 32 foot gooseneck and some horses, now and then. )

Thanks again.

Go to ebay under dodge cummins and look for boost elbow's from justinhoop, only about $10. 00 and just adjust your plate for the time being. Boost elbow should give you more boost, he claims 27-30psi. You could wire in a mystery switch until you get trans upgraded thats what I did and ran it on dyno and no problems, results in my sig. Just my 2 cents.
