Looking at a 2003 6spd HO SRW 4dr 2wd for sale. 84k miles. Looks like little or no towing. Test drove it today and everything seems kosher.

Anything particular I need to check for or be on the look out for before signing the deal??

Also, I'm new to 3rd gen CTDs. . Is there differences in the rear seat configuration, or are they all the same??

Thanks!!

Main thing to look out for are some of the tsb's that came out, see to it that they have been done before you purchase it. You can do a search to find out what tsb's are out their.

Good Luck, Jake.

The rear seats are all the same. The only option was a fold out metal load floor with the seat folded up. I really miss it on the megacab, it was a great place to put wet/dirty items without messing up the carpet or seats.

I could be wrong but I think 2003 models didn't come with rear seat headrests. I see this as an important issue if you have passengers. If you don't carry passengers much, don't sweat it and get it.

Your right about the 03's not having the headrests in the back. I think they added those for the 04's and up.

Yes, I noticed it did not have any headrests in the back seat. .

As for the rear seat cargo tray. How can I tell if it has it installed??

Can it be added if it is not factory??

Also, does $20k sound like a fair price for the truck?? It as 84k, but the body and interior are in excellent shape. I dont want to spend too much, but a few others I've looked at were in rougher shape and seemed to have seen far more towing.

Thanks for the help!!

Earlier this year I paid $25k for my 2wd '03 QC with 14k miles. I think you could get them down on price a little more.

You can always buy an '04 rear seat from a wrecked truck if the headrests are required.

By "rear seat cargo tray" do you mean the fold flat floor? Flip up the back seat and it should be apparent. Yes you can add it, with eBay being your best bet for price. All of the QC trucks came with built-in storage recesses under the back seat.

if you do buy it take it in for the alternator bracket tsb, my dealer let me take it home and switch it out ...

there were no cracks visible on the top of mine but underneath you could see them really well

Wheel bearings

Make sure the wheel bearing assembly (front and rear) are ok. They are expensive to replace (part available from dealer only, $300+). Dan
