255's really help fill up the wheel wells nicely. I've been using that size for a good 5 years now without any problems or rubbing at all. They will give you a bit more side wall flex and all I've seen are D rated. Tread is slightly narrower by about 1/2 inch but I really haven't noticed much of a difference in drive characteristics other than seeing a bit more lean if I try to push a corner hard & fast (not a good idea). I don't have any digital picts to post right now.

I will second everything VSSMAN has said. I use a Cooper Mud Tire and like the way the tire is able to work thru the deep stuff easier. It also dropped my hwy rpm's some to help the mileage a little bit.

My dad has been running a set of Cooper Discovery S/T's. They are on his '99 and they fit well and do not rub anywhere. There are D rated but have a 3000lb + rating. They do well in mud, snow, and dry traction. My only complaint is sidewall flex... but I am a volunteer fireman and I tend to push these trucks a little in the corners. The 255's do not take corners near as well as 265's. They do work great for the skinny wheels that won't take 265's (legally) and still slow the 4. 10 rears.

I love the look of the 255's and would buy some in a minute but for the "D" rating. Also I wish while they were at it,widen the tread. The Coopers' look like they'd make mean pizza cutters.

Just replaced my 255 BFG MT's that had 77,000 miles on them, I tend to drive fast and corner fast but they held out well, when one on the front would get a funny pattern going I would put it on the back and square it off again. Gotta love duallys for being able to do that. I had these tires on my 93 and on this truck, except for price they work well for me. I've pulled a few trailers, probably 8,000 lbs and never had a problem with tire rub.
