Hey I was wondering if anybody knew of someone who makes a 48RE valve body that has a transbrake and is full manual. I want to use this as my sled pulling and drag racing valve body only. It will be part of my race package that will be applied to the truck in the pits the long night/morning before the race at the track. Then after racing is finished I will be switching back to my highway setup and the stock valve body will go back in the truck. I have done a solid couple hours of math and I need to Transbrake off the line and run in second gear when hooked up the sled. If anyone knows of someone who makes a valve body to suit my needs please post.

Call ATS about their Standalone controller and valve body. It is completely programmable and can be made to do almost anything... even lockup in first gear. This way you won't have to swap valve bodies all the time.

Check your rules, I think several of the pullers do not allow transbrakes. Are you prepared to catch the fluid everytime you change the VB. Also exactly what math are you referring too? RPM/gear ratio/wheel speed stuff?

You'll be picking up parts off the track taking off in 2nd gear with a sled (with an auto). Not only that but 1st gear helps with take off and launch... .

What converter do you plan on running with this sledpuller of yours?

Where you at Derek?

I doubt he will actually break anything, just really hard on the convertor. As some have seen most of the year they thought I was taking off in second gear :). I do know of someone who has a very good running truck who said they were going to be leaving the line in second this year. I agree about the lower gear helps leaving the line, look at the DMAX that is one of the reasons that they don't have to build any boost at the line, they have a 3. xx+ first gear ratio.

I wasn't for sure if he was gonna use second to launch or must meant he wanted to use second gear for his top gear.
