Looking for a 727

I am looking for a 727 to go behind my 12v.



I was wondering if anyone had one that upgraded or if anyone could recommend a good place to get a used one from.

I have a friend who has a Cummins/727 that has 45k miles. I owned the engine and transmission but sold it to him about five years ago. It is sitting in his shop. He would take 800 for it.

Do you need a 2wd or 4X4 trans. My brother has a diesel 727/205 combo. I will tell you the 727 needs to be taken apart, rebuilt/fixed. He aquired it from a truck that was being cutup. Owner said it would not move and cut the truck up. I suspect something was ary with the shifting mechanism.
