I live in a small town and can not find anybody to remove my dpf and reinstall the dpf pipe i found for sale in san antonio. Has anybody ordered one of the dpf delete kits and installed it themselves??? How hard is it to get the untit off and install it??? One other question I have is when one replaces the dpf with the dpf delete pipe what do you do with the sensors that used to plug into the dpf?? I actaully dont even know if the dpf has any sensors in it but i keep seeing bungs or no bungs on some of the delete kits descriptions? My problem is there is a place that sells the dpf kit but they want me to remove the dpf before i bring the truck up to them and i also have to sign a release of liability statement and say the truck is only for off road use on my ranch or soemthing to that efect. I am aware that whatever controller i buy must be installed on the truck beofore the dpf kit is installed so i can erase the cel light codes and i guess also keep the truck from think the dpf is still on the truck and throwing it back into limp mode since apparently the trucks current dpf is plugged and wont go back into regen. Another question I have is what controller if one has extra money and wants to update to either the smarty or the H and S. What i am having probems with is selecting the best buy combo for my money, I can installed the egr remove kit with the block off plates and also the cooler kit as well. I am thinking the rub is where to drill the probe for the controller is my biggest problem as well as just getting the dpf off so i can bolt up the dpf kit pipe, do all of the dpf pipes have bungs in them or what do you do with the wiring harness still comes to my mind. I would like to just get my truck running here in this small town wthout having to load it up and haul it in and then find out they wont pull the dpf off at there shop. . Could somebody please go into detail on what dpf felete kit they bought, where they bought if from, how much was it, how was the shipping, how long to get the kit, did the kit use a 4 inch pipe or a 5 inch pipe and did you find it to lound or ok or whats the noise level if you went with a turbo back system of some kind. I am going to utube and some delte kit forums and see if i can find a how to remove and install the dpf kit yourslefs video. Thanks in advance, I need this truck and its out of warranty at 112,000 and i can't ot wont reinstall another dpf and egr valve on my dime. Please tell me what you did to get your 6. 7 deleted and what website did you order from and how was their tech suport? Thanks

H & S performance

I am in the same situation as you but do not have that many miles on my truck. I have researched the full delete kits and found that H&S has most everything you are looking for. They ( H&S) have 3 different controllers and from what I have read on their website you do not need to plug sensors back in. They can be left hanging. As far as the DPF I believe it just unbolts. Good luck with your project. Let us know what your outcome is.

Hi, I have been deleted since Aug 09, and my son and I did the work together.

We ordered a 5. 9L engine 5" turbo back exhaust system from MBRP , to fit a long bed truck. We also ordered the Smarty S67 and down loaded the ME software and installed this in the truck. The EGR was removed (but the cooler was left on) and blocking plates were installed. This can all be ordered from James at Rolling Smoke Diesel Performance, here is his link: Rollin' Smoke Diesel - Diesel Perfomance Parts

If you go with the Smarty, they provide written instructions and photos of how to do the deletes. These instructions are provided in the down loadable software and are very easy to follow. Took us about 3 to 4 hours to do the entire delete and install the new iron.

I also included the latest information on state by state emission testing for you to review. The gas vehicles are listed first then the diesel equipped vehicles.
