I am Walters girl friend, he is always on this site checking things out. He says he learns all kinds of stuff from you guys. Now I need help...

I have driven a powerstroke for the last 3 years and it is time to get a Dodge. Where is the best place to buy one? The best deals? The nicest people? etc, etc... ... .

By the way I live in Grand Junction Colorado so I would like to keep it with-in 500 miles. New or used but must be a cummins.

Thanks Cody

go to carpoint or kbb or edmunds first

Figure out the invoice, then go get one at no more than $50 over the invoice. There are many dealers out there that want to sell you a truck and are willing to take the ~ $1100 holdback they get just for selling the thing. If you get jerked around by one dealer, let your feet do the talking!

If that is not feasable, call Castle Chrysler in Castle Rock. . Talk to Gene Taylor. He is a salesman now but used to own the place. . This is a great dealership!! In Colorado you will be doing good to get your truck $1000. 00 dollars over invoice. . That is what Castle Chrysler will charge you. . The service writer you want to talk to is BJ. . He will take care of you too. This is a excellent dealership!!!

I believe the new name of the dealership is Burts Castle Chrysler

Good Luck!!

I'm kind of in the same boat. Been playing phone tag the last few days with Dave Smith. Don't forget about Melton Sales in OK, www.meltonsales.com

Thought I heard of a place in Texas which sells volume and therefore low prices like Dave Smith or Melton Sales. I was planning on taking Quotes from these high volume dealers to the local guys and see what happens. If they won't match or come very close I figure on getting a cheap one-way plane ticket to one of the volume dealers. Besides, the long trip back home is probably just what that new Cummins needs to help break her in. Better yet maybe I'll drive out and break-in the Cummins by towing back my '95 on one of those U-haul trailers. Would it be too soon towing that much weight on a new engine??? I've just heard folks here say hooking up to a heavy load and taking a looong drive is the best way to break-in a new Cummins.

Is Dodge still doing the $500 Farm Bureau rebate??

JPS, isn't there a saying "if the price is right they will come" ;)

If you are looking for new, Kotby Motors (I think) is the dealer in Laramie, WY ph#(307) 721-5060. (about 350-400 miles) My friend bought his wife's Dakota there and plans to buy his new D/C there as well. Many have said they are the best volume dealer in the region. If you want used, I bought mine at AW Trucks in near Brighton, CO. It's just north of Denver. Their web site: awtrucks.com they have their inventory on there and it's updated weekly. It's nice to look and save the trip. They were real friendly and gave me a good price on my trade. My brother bought a truck there also and liked his experience as well.

tpc, good to see someone else from Cheyenne on here. I moved back down here from Gillette last May and have been looking for a good service dept. Can you tell me anything about Kotby for service? Thanks in advance.

www.bossiercountry.com or 1 800 BOSSIER and ask for Deanna. When you get "giggles" on the phone tell her I ask you to call. She will fax or email you the invoice and then drop ship it to the dealer of your choice. Has sold to numerous TDR folks and no complaints. Fact is, many have told me how much fun is was. PS: "Giggles" husband Johnny is the General Sales Mangler and she sells about 75 trucks a month by herself. Best of luck!

I would have to say these giggles.....

If I had known this when I was buying my truck, then it would have saved me I think. If you don't like them driving it up to your area, then try Milton in OK. . They have the best deals too, just little more north.

Blair, NE...

That is Woodhouse Ford/Dodge in Blair, NE - Just a country mile from Omaha... . Yeah, I gag on that one too.

See my Sig - that is what I'm getting in about 4 weeks from them. I did the invoice bit and got a great deal from them. If you are willing to go that far, they have a great price and I didn't even have to haggle. Do it at the end of the month and dealers will be more willing to do a lesser price.

Tx. DieselKid: They do not drive the truck to the customer. They have it drop shipped from the factory to the dealer of their choice on a "Courtesy Delivery". Where this really works well is when you have a dealer that won't work with you. The ultimate frosting is to buy it for invoice(or less) and have it delivered to the dealer that would not deal with you. The cost of this service is generally around $200. Works well... ... ... do it all the time.

I bought my truck at Christophers Dodge and will not go back.

I had an awesome sales guy... but he quit right after I got my truck. After that the dealership seemed to go down hill real quick. Not only that but their service department is clueless when it comes to Diesels.

The wife and I bought her truck at Prestige up in Longmont. They really treated us good... and it looks like I will only be taking my trucks to their service department for work. So soon enough I'll let you know how that works out.

Also... I know of some people that have purchased vehicles at Johnsons Auto plaza here in Brighton and everyone that I have talked to has had a really good experience there... so you might try them too.

If you need any assistance in finding a dealer around here... please feel free to contact me. I'd be more then happy to help you out.
